Contribute and PDFs

If you have a current copy of the Word document on your hard-drive or a network drive, skip down to "In Word." (It is much easier to modify a Word document than a .pdf.)

In Contribute:

If necessary, retrieve the Word version of the document from the web server as follows:

  • Choose -> anyword.doc
  • Open or Save? -> Save
  • Save anyword.doc on your hard-drive or network drive.

In Word:

  • Edit anyword.doc in Word and save it.
  • (Top horizontal menu) FlashPaper -> Convert to PDF
  • Save the .pdf on your hard-drive or network drive.

In Contribute:

  • (Top horizontal menu) File -> Publish File from my Computer.
  • Browse to the updated file and publish it.*

*If publishing the file results in “Error #54,” ignore the error and check the .pdf in a browser to verify that it is updated as intended.

FlashPaper is distributed as part of Macromedia Studio 8. If you are on campus, you can download Studio 8 from the IT Helpdesk Downloads page.
