The Header contains the DePauw Help, DePauw Site Index, and the DePauw.edu Search. For consistency, the search is relative to www.depauw.edu, not the local site.
Because the DePauw Logo is a registered trademark, stringent guidelines apply to it's use. Please see DePauw publications website for details. When used on a web page, the DePauw Logo should always be located in the upper hand corner.
The Navigation will be located in one file for each site. The site navigation will contain all links for the local site. It will also include the Address for each department/organization. The format of this address will be in a specific HTML as to maximize the usability of the address with the new industry standard microformat (hCard) more information on this format can be found at microformats.org.
The banner is what gives your site it’s unique visual identity. The image is a rectangle, 770 pixels wide by 225 pixels tall, and is displayed as a background image. The template includes options that you may select to modify the appearance of the banner on your page. These options currently include your choice of three different images, rounded corners or square, full or partial height, and other features. (See “Banner_Style” - Vaues 1,2, and 3 on the Template Properties page.)
"Content" is the main editable section of the website. This is where you will make most of your changes. The content area has may predefined styles/classes that will steamline your page layout efforts. For more about layout options, see "Flexible Layout."
The side bar is an optional area of the template. This section can be turned on/off from the Template Properties. The sidebar also includes predefined widgets to help you add content, such as university calendar, faculty bios for your department, and news stories, to your pages . For more about the side bar and its widgets, see the Template Properties Page.
The Footer will contain the contact email address of the site author. Please be sure to replace "webteam@depauw.edu" with your email address. The footer also includes the DePauw address.
