File Structure

The DePauw Template is a set of pre-tested and validated files and folders setup for Adobe Dreamweaver or Adobe Contribute(additional setup required for contribute). All files and folders are REQUIRED to be present in all DePauw sites using the DePauw Template.

Breakdown of Files and Folders

_includes & navigation.asp

The "_includes" folder stores the navigation for your site. Your site will have one navigation for the entire site named "navigation.asp". This file is included in every new file created from the DePauw Template.

css & site.css

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets. The new DePauw Template design is based upon CSS. This allows you/webteam to change the style of your entire web site without changing each individual page. The template has a global style sheet for the entire depauw.edu site but these values and styles can be updated and changed in the "site.css" file. By default the "site.css" file contains the value for your banner image.

documents

Default location for document such as PDF file and word Document.

images

Utilize this folder for all of the images on your site. This includes photos on pages or graphical elements for your specific site.
