Tablet PC Information: Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of support is available for my Tablet PC?

If you experience technical difficulties, take your Tablet PC to the Help Desk to receive assistance.

Is the screen touch sensitive?
The screen is sensitive to the stylus pen that comes with the Tablet PC.  It is meant to work like an actual notebook, so there is no problem if you rest your hand on the screen while writing.  However, it is recommended that you avoid wearing jewelry that could scratch the screen.
Does the Tablet PC have handwriting recognition? How well does it work?
Yes, and it works well.  There are some issues with upper and lower cases if you don’t always use the same sized letters when you write.
What can I do to make the handwriting conversion as accurate as possible?
  • Hold the Tablet PC pen just like you hold a pen or pencil when writing on paper.
  • Write uppercase letters larger than lowercase letters.
  • Write legibly and consistently with even spacing between letters and words.
  • Try not to leave empty spaces in words.
  • Recalibrate the screen to better match how you are holding the pen.
