Upperclass Housing Application Process
Resources & information about our housing application process for sophomores, juniors & seniors
How is upperclass student housing assigned?
Once students have submitted their housing application, the Campus Living and Community Development staff will make housing assignments. The placement process considers the following guiding concepts:
-
Current Class Standing (Juniors, Sophomores, First-Years)
-
If you apply as a group, you will be placed with your group. Student organizations will be placed before all other groups.
-
Minimizing the number of students that receive their lowest ranked options
-
If other factors are equal, group priority will be determined randomly
Please note: Class standing is determined by current semesters completed – not credits attained – based on records from the Registrar's Office. Every year there is a handful of students that return for a fifth year. Students that have completed 7 semesters receive priority and will be placed before current juniors.

Students living in the Residence Halls and Rector Village are required to be on a meal plan per their contract. Students living in Rector Village are able to downgrade to a lower plan by contacting the ID Card office by July 1, 2013. For questions about meal plans, please contact the ID Card office, located in the lower level of the Union Building.
Some locations within UOAH are designated as a No Event Registration Neighborhood. Students residing in the No Event Registration Neighborhood will have the opportunity to live in a more quiet setting, which meets the needs of students and the Greencastle neighbors. All of the Community Living Policies apply, except that students living in this neighborhood can only host gatherings with fewer than 10 guests. For a complete list of unit designations, please see our webpage.
