Leaves:
Leaves are ovate with parallel veins. Base of leaf surrounds stem.

Flowers:
Flowers are whitish green or pale yellowish-green, tube-shaped. Flowers hand from stem, underneath leaves.

Fruit:
Fruit is a small berry, initially green, ripens to dark blue.

Roots:
Plant spreads by underground rhizomes, forms colonies.

More Information:

Polygonatum is from the Greek for "many knees," refers to knee-like shape of underground rhizomes.  The species name, biflorum, is from the Latin for "two-flowered."
