Leaves:
Leaves are palmately lobed with five or seven deeply cut lobes

Flowers:
Flowers are 1 to 2 inches in diameter with five pale purple petals. Produces flowers in mid-spring in April and May.

The genus name and common name Geranium is from the Greek geranos for “crane,” from the beak-like shape of the fruit.
