R&D Summer Intern Program at Dow AgroSciences
(http://www.dowagro.com/careers/students/lab.htm). R&D internships are available in several chemistry, biology and computer science related disciplines, including (but not limited to) biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, plant breeding, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, surface chemistry, engineering (chemical, biomedical, material, or optical) and informatics (bio and chem). All R&D lab-based internships will be located at our global headquarters in Indianapolis, IN and field internships will be located at any one of our 15+ field/breeding stations located throughout the US. This is a paid internship salary is based on year completed in school and any relevant experience), expecting 40 hour/week work schedules for 10-12 weeks during the summer months. Housing is significantly subsidized and provided to any student whose permanent address is greater than 45 miles from our site.

2008-09 Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratory Fellowships, www.alphl.org/fellowships offers training and research fellowships. Co-sponsored by the Association of Public Health Laboratories (PHL) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), up to 45 fellows are recruited each year for assignments at state, local and CDC public heath laboratories. Application deadline is February 13, 2009.

AR, Eureka Springs ~ Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is accepting applications for full-time staff positions at the refuge.  The refuges is a no-kill facility committed to rescuing abused, abandoned and unwanted Big Cats and other exotic animals.  Applicant for staff position require B.S. or B.A. in an animal-related discipline is preferred, but all disciplines are encouraged to apply.  Current job openings are for Animal Keeper (9 positions) and Horticulture Intern (1 position).  You would be paid a weekly cash stipend of $50 for living expenses, as well as housing on the refuge in a comfortable cottage, which has heat, air conditioning, utilities, full bath, kitchen, and a washer and dryer.   Application deadlines are November 15 to begin February 1,;   Send resume and cover letter to Volunteer Program, Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, 239 Turpentine Creek lane, Eureka springs, AR  72632 www.turpentinecreek.org

IL, Glen Ellyn ~ Willowbrook Wildlife Foundation has announced their Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Fellowships.  Willowbrook maintains a permanent exhibit collection of native wildlife species and is open to the public daily.  Fellowship Positions included Keeper Fellowships; Veterinary Technician Fellowship; Education Fellowship; Research Fellowship.  All applicants must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate from a related degree program.  Fellows will be paid $10.00 per hour and must provide their own housing and transportation.  You must apply for each position and send a separate application if you are applying for more than one position.  To find out more you can e-mail Kathe Woeltje at kwoeltje@dupageforest.com.  Application deadline is Februrary 15. 

2007-08 Indiana Dunes Environmental Learning Center has positions of Camp Caunselor/Naturalist Trainee for 7 full-time 7 week positions, and Naturalist Intern a full-time 9 month position late August to late May. OH, Columbus ~ Stone Laboratory at the Ohio State University’s Island Campus on Lake Erie  has announced  4 Biological Field Station Assistant positions open which pays  $7.50 per hour and includes housing. Must have state watercraft boat operators license (will train), biology background, and valid driver’s license.  Position is located in Put-in-Bay, Ohio.
