"Ethical Issues in Genetic Testing"

Kimberly QuaidDr. Quaid is a professor in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics, Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Director of the Predictive Testing Program, Co-Director of the Genetic Counseling Program.

Dr. Quaid is a well-known authority in the arena of genetic screening and technology. She has written a book, several book chapters, and numerous articles that speak to the scientific,ethical and social DNAchallenges presented by pre-symptomatic and pre-natal genetic screening. Her research and publications highlight the challenges presented byscreening for illnesses such as Alzheimers, Huntingtons, andParkinsons diseases. Dr. Quaid is current a member of the Indiana State Advisory Board on Genetics Services, and co-chair of the ethical, legal and policy issues subcommittee.
