Tim Good, Ph.D.

Associate Professor

Tim Good received his B.A. in Theatre from Butler University, his M.A. is Directing from Emerson College, and his Ph.D. in Theatre History/Performance Theory from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Good is a member of The Lessac Institute, The Living Theatre, American College Theatre Festival, Voice and Speech Trainer's Association, The National Communication Organization, and serves as Chair of the Acting Program for the Association for Theater in Higher Education.

Tim Good has trained and worked in many different areas throughout the United States and Europe. He studied voice for the actor with Arthur Lessac, Sue Ann Park, and Nancy Krebs; studied acting and improvisation with Herbert Berghof, Arthur French, and Davis Robinson; and toured Europe and the United States with Judith Malina and The Living Theatre. Dr. Good's professional work includes scenery, lighting, and stage management at Juilliard, Showman Fabricators in Brooklyn, Majestic Theatre in Boston, Ballet Internationale in Indianapolis, and Seaside Music Theatre in Florida, as well as designing and directing for The Beckmann Theatre in Indianapolis and Sense of Urgency in Chicago. He hosts the annual Lessac Summer Intensive at DePauw University and founded unIMPROVable, DePauw's Improv Troupe. His research interests include avant-garde theatre, The Living Theatre, Holocaust theatre, anarchist and utopian philosophy, and museums as performance of culture.

Tim Good teaches Voice and Movement, Theatre Production and Design 1 and 2, Theatre History, History of Theatrical Theory and Criticism, Foundations of Communication, Public Speaking, First Year and Senior Seminars, and Acting 1.
