Geoffrey Klinger graduated from DePauw University in 1988 with a
B. A. in Communication and Economics. Dr. Klinger earned his M. A. in Communication in 1992 and his Ph. D. in Communication in 1998, both from the University of Iowa. He regularly teaches Public Communication and Controversy, Rhetorical Theory and Criticism, and History of Public Discourse.
Dr. Klinger is a member of the International Society for the Study of Argumentation, the National Communication Association, American Forensic Association, Rhetoric Society of America, Central States Communication Association, and National Parliamentary Debate Association. Dr. Klinger's main areas of interest are rhetoric and social theory, legal and political argumentation, rhetoric of economics, critical theory, semiotics, and discourse analysis.
