After learning all the really important things he’ll ever need to know growing up on a farm in Benton County Indiana, Duane Skoog has spent the last twenty-five years sketching, designing, rendering, tweaking, building, painting, loading-in, loading-out, repairing, and coddling various live productions. His experiences include stage, television, and industrial productions. He also taught production design and technical direction at the university level for many years.
Mr. Skoog has designed over sixty theatrical stage productions for academic and professional theater companies. In 1988 he began a ten year association with Joint Effort Productions Inc. While working with JEPI, Mr. Skoog designed the scenery for NASCAR Today for Ross Television and the TNN Network; The Nasville Area Music Awards. He also spent 6 years working with Miss Universe Inc. and CBS Television. Mr. Skoog began his association as Scenic Artist, progressing to Technical Stage Supervisor and culminating as Assistant Art Director to Robert Rappaport for the Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, and Miss Universe Pageants.
Mr. Skoog joined the Production Design staff of Castrigno & Co Ltd in 1998. He was the project manager on many large-scale corporate events and exhibits for companies such as Hanes’ Lovable product launch, IBM Global Golden Circle Awards, and Xerox Hall at Drupa 2000.
After developing a professional working relationship with Daniel Hicks while both were with Castrigno & Co Ltd, Mr. Skoog joined Dan as a Designer for ONSET Design Inc. A few of ONSET Design clients are Astra Zeneca, HBO, Lucent Technologies, Ortho.
