Steve Timm, Professor and Chair of Communication and Theatre, is a playwright, screenwriter, director and designer. Author of over 30 original works, his plays have been produced in Chicago, New York, and widely across the Midwest. Professor Timm arrived at DePauw in 1990 and has served as chair since 2006. Recent original works include Polvadera (2009) and Steve Here→X (2007), as well as The Rocky Horror Show (2004), The Who’s Tommy (2009), Inherit the Wind (2007), and Mother Courage (2003).

Recent courses taught: Comm 117/Theatre Production and Design, Comm 100/Foundations of Communication, Comm 319/Writing for the Stage, Screen, and Television, Comm 450/Senior Seminar in Critical Theory and Performance.
Current projects include the Ghost Ranch Oral History Project , a documentary on Alexandria, IN, and hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Steve also chairs the Nature Park Steering Committee.
