UASRC Committee

Unit Assessment System Review Committee (UASRC): The UASRC acts in an advisory function to the Unit. The committee may evaluate course syllabi, program checkpoint data, and departmental policies and changes and may assist the Unit in establishing criteria for various areas of assessment. Members of the Unit’s UASRC represent unit stakeholders and currently include K-12 teachers and administrators, Superintendents, Education Studies staff and DePauw faculty.  University departments such as Communications and Modern Languages and DePauw alumni, currently serve on the UASRC. This function will continue into the proposed MAT program with the addition of a teacher candidate representative. The Music Education representative is a standing member of the UASRC.

UAS-RC Update – November 2007
The Unit Assessment System Review Committee met on Wednesday, November 7th from 5-7 PM in the Student Union Building.  Those present heard updates regarding the MAT proposal, which has been sent to the IDOE-DPS for approval.  In relation to the MAT, Dr. Pat Sellers of the Department of Education Studies presented a review of the data management system that is currently being developed to support the MAT program and provide means for program improvement.  Next, committee members were asked to review several samples of online and hard-copy graduate program application forms.  Chairperson Dr. Sally Harvey-Koelpin then elicited their input for the creation of DPU’s own MAT application.  Finally, UAS-RC members were asked to begin considering teachers from their own school corporations who might be interested in working as Master Teachers for the MAT program.
