Jamie was the recipient of the John Price Durbin John Distinguished Professor award (2005-2007) for excellence in teaching and service. Jamie particularly enjoys teaching courses that examine the developmental aspects of learning as it relates to conceptual change. Her current research foci are: college students' ways of knowing as it relates to their understanding of the nature of science; and elementary students' understanding of science.
