Angela Flury received her Ph.D. in comparative literature, with designated emphases in critical theory and women’s studies, from the University of California, Davis, in 2000.  Her scholarly interests include translation studies, the novel, visual culture, and film. At DePauw, Angela has taught, among other courses, Modern Continental Literature (Eng261), Fiction, Women, Fashion (Eng390), and a course on the Bildungsroman (Eng392).  She is currently teaching  a course on spy fiction, a first year seminar , and the gateway course for English majors, Literature and Interpretation (Eng151).   Her most recent publication is a translation (with an introductory essay) of Christa Wolf's Ein Tag im Jahr, published in PMLA, May 2007.  She is developing a book project on the polyglot in fiction, and editing, with Hervé Regnauld, University of Rennes, a special issue, “Multilingual Realities in Translation,” forthcoming in Reconstruction: Studies in Contemporary Culture in January, 2011.  The submission deadline for papers and abstracts is May, 2010; to see the call for papers, go to http://reconstruction.eserver.org/upcoming.shtml).
