Tom Chiarella's fiction appeared in the New Yorker, the Florida Review, and Story magazine; his regular essay and magazine contributions include, Esquire, Golf Digest and O: The Oprah Magazine. His book of short stories, Foley's Luck (Knopf) was published in 1992; the following year, he won the United Methodist Colleges Teacher of the Year Award and an NEA Fellowship in Fiction writing. He is the author of a book on writing, Writing Dialogue (Story Press, 1998), and a collection of essays on golf, Thursday's Game (Emmis, 2003). He served as English Department Chair from 1997 to 2002. A National Magazine Award Finalist, he is Fiction Editor and Writer-at-Large for Esquire magazine.
