Barbara Bean did her undergraduate work at Knox College and has an M.F.A. in fiction from Indiana University. At DePauw, she teaches creative writing and introductory literature courses in poetry, fiction, and women’s studies. She has published fiction in such magazines as North American Review, the Colorado Review, and the Crescent Review. Her collection of stories, Dream House, was published in March 2001 by the Center for Literary Publishing, University of Colorado. She has received a DePauw Faculty Fellowship to work on stories connected by the theme of architecture. She is currently the advisor to the campus literary magazine, The Midwestern Review.
