Jeffrey Hollander

Jeffrey Hollander, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Associate Dean of the School of Music, regularly teaches a course called “Representations of Gender and  Sexuality in Opera.” He received an A.B. degree in history and music and the M.A. and Ph.D. in musicology, all from the University of California at Berkeley. He taught at Franklin & Marshall College and at the University of California before joining the faculty at DePauw.  His research and teaching interests include the practice of performance, the history of musical interpretation, issues of gender and sexuality in music, the relation between literature and music, and the history of opera.
