Brett O'Bannon’s appointment is in the Department of Political Science where he teaches courses in both World and American politics. Courses he has taught include: Introduction to Comparative politics, African Politics, Women & World Politics, US Foreign Policy, the Presidency, the Legislative Process, and American National Government. His research interests and publications are in several areas related to political and economic development in the third world generally, and West Africa specifically. He has published, in French and in English, in the US and in Africa, articles related to gender and development, critiques of neoliberalism and democratization. His dissertation explores the implications of neoliberal reform for local-scale conflict management in Senegal, West Africa.
