Barbara Whitehead, Associate Professor in History, came to DePauw in 1990 after studying at Harvard and Bryn Mawr, where she earned her Ph.D. in French historiography. Barbara teaches French history, historiography, the Enlightenment, and women's history. She edited a collection of essays entitled Women's Education in Early Modern Europe: A History, 1500-1800 (Garland, 1999); her current research focuses on women intellectuals of the French Enlightenment.
