Student Guidance

The personnel and resources in Student Guidance are dedicated to assisting students who encounter difficult academic challenges.

We help DePauw students understand their expectations as scholars and community members, become informed about curricular and co-curricular opportunities and resources, prepare to earn those chances and use them productively, and integrate the resulting experiences fully into their lives.

Our goal is that all students become:

  • sophisticated and critical thinkers;
  • creative problem solvers;
  • clear and cogent communicators;
  • skilled partners in intellectual, civic, and personal relationships;
  • good citizens who are informed about, and engaged in, local communities and the wider world.

and that they develop identities that are:

  • authentic, confident, reflective, and self-aware;
  • respectful of, and comfortable with, diversity;
  • emotionally mature, and able to connect deeply and meaningfully with people and ideas.
