Intermediate Studio:New Media Arts
This course is designed to equip students with multiple techniques for creating media-enabled artwork as well as combining those techniques into an integrated studio art practice. The course will offer exploration in areas such as software art, video, and performance, and show how these strategies can work in concert with each other. Practical application of these techniques will be taught within a conceptual and historical framework. Students will have the opportunity to conceptualize their own art projects and select from a menu of approaches in order to execute them. Projects can include works created for the screen, the web, human participation in gallery space, or event-based work in public.
