Medicine
In the United States, there are two main types of medical practice: allopathic and osteopathic. Allopathic doctors pursue the M.D. degree, osteopathic the D.O. Though there are some historical differences in the philosophy of these two types of medicine, their training and practice are now similar. Most residency programs in the U.S. accept residents with either type of training.
