Costs & Financial Support
Costs to study at another school or organization vary based on that program. To be eligible for student financial support, students must provide budget information as part of the application and indicate that they wish to be considered for financial support.
Costs
Students should carefully investigate the costs of their proposed program. There is no additional cost from DePauw, except for the cost of mandatory international insurance.
Financial Support
The Winter Term Student Financial Support (SFS) program is designed to help DePauw students with demonstrable financial need participate in off-campus Winter Term opportunities.
Awards from the SFS program are based primarily on the financial need of the applicant, as determined by the Financial Aid Office. All applicants for Winter Term SFS should have current FAFSA forms on file with the Financial Aid Office. International Students can complete the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE in place of the FAFSA. SFS awards are generated according to financial need codes, which are derived from FAFSA reports (or other, equivalent data). Need codes range from 0 (no financial information on file) to 6 (very high need). Students may view their need code via e-services.
Financial support funds are limited and are allocated to as many students as possible. Awards are typically a percentage of the proposed budget based on the student's financial need code. Awards are issued as a check once all required materials and pre-departure expectations are met. All awards are considered taxable income.
