Microscopy Resources

Zeiss AxioImager.M2 with fluorescence and Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) Optics and HP Compact Elite 8300 CMT Desktop PC workstation with HP ZR2740w 27-inch LED monitor. The fully motorized microscope is housed in the Bioimaging laboratory (Rm. Olin-242) and is shared among members of the DePauw community but is mostly used by members of the Biology and Psychology departments. It is equipped with DIC-optics and filter sets for blue, green and red fluorescence, EC Plan Neofluar 5x, 10x, 20x and 40x objectives, and a Plan-Apochromat 63x objective. The Axioimager is used for viewing whole mount immunostainings of adult zebrafish organs (heart), zebrafish larvae and embryos, double- and triple immunostained cryosectioned tissue, in-situ hybridizations in zebrafish larvae and embryos, and live transgenic zebrafish embryos and larvae expressing BFP, GFP or RFP.
