Lambermont, LaConda J. (Connie),
Psychology/Classical Studies, Harrison Hall, Room 108A
Secretary, Classical Studies Department and Psychology Department
Connie Lambermont started working at DePauw University in August, 1988. Connie assisted with the development of the on-line system that allows the departments to enter their own data. She also worked in the Registrar's Office when the student registration process changed from students submitting their requests on bubble sheets to on-line registration. Both of these on-line systems are still currently used at the university.
At the beginning of the 2006-2007 academic year, Connie became an academic secretary. For two years, she was with Religious Studies, Asian Studies, Black Studies and Jewish Studies in the Emison Art building during the morning and with Psychology in Harrison Hall during the afternoons. Starting with the 2008-09 academic year, she became the secretary for the Psychology and Classical Studies departments on the first floor of Harrison Hall.
Through all of the positions that Connie has held at DePauw, the contact she has with students, faculty and staff, and parents, alumni, and visitors remains to be the aspect she ent her work.
Connie has lived in Putnam County her entire life. A 1969 graduate of Fillmore High School, she attended Indiana College of Business and Technology and worked at a local bank for a few years. She and her husband Don were married in October, 1970, and with the assistance of family members, built their home in Morton and moved into it in December, 1971. There they raised their three children, Staci, Travis, and Amy, all of whom are now adults. Seven grandchildren now make frequent visits to that same home. Spending time with the family and attending activities in which the grandchildren are involved are favorite pastimes of the couple. Connie also enjoys working on her North Pole Christmas village for display during the holidays.
Connie is an active member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church, where she often serves as Sunday School teacher for the preschool and assists with the annual Bible School program and community fish fry. She and Don participated on the church's mission trip to West Virginia a few years ago, and also helped construct the playground and the shelter house at the church.
