Computer Science Major Wins Goldwater National Scholarship (Spring, 2013)
The Goldwater Scholarship is the premiere undergraduate science and mathematics award in the United States. The scholarship program was designed to foster and encourage outstanding students to pursue careers in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering. In addition to showing excellence in the classroom, JD has gained valuable research experience in his time at DePauw. During the summer of 2011, JD worked on a persuasive technology research project with funding from DePauw’s Science Research Fellows program. The following year, he worked on designing a game system for evaluating intelligent agents under a National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates grant. Among his many accomplishments, JD is also a member of the Science Fellows Program, the Information Technology Associates Program and a member of the Computer Science Department Honor Society. Join us in congratulating JD!
