Computer Science Major Wins National Scholarship (Spring, 2012)
Computer Science Major Bradley (Brad) P. Wethington has been awarded a prestigious 2012 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship through the Goldwater Excellence in Education program.
The Goldwater Scholarship is the premiere undergraduate science and mathematics award in the United States. The scholarship program was designed to foster and encourage outstanding students to pursue careers in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering. In addition to showing excellence in the classroom, Brad has gained valuable research experience in his time at DePauw. During the summer of 2009 Brad worked on a persuasive technology research project with funding from a National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates grant. The following summer Brad worked on software quality assurance projects at The Aerospace Corporation. Among his many accomplishments, Brad is also a Julian Scholar, a member of the Science Research Fellows Program, a member of the Computer Science Department Honor Society, and a Resident Assistant.
