Five Computer Science Majors travel to STARS Leadership Conference

Five of the Computer Science Department's women traveled to Atlanta, GA, August 11-14, 2016.  The women attended the STARS Celebration Leadership Conference with three hundred additional STARS (link:  http://www.starscelebration.org/2016/) students and faculty members from across the United States.  Dr. Gloria Townsend served on the program committee and gave a faculty talk about recruiting and retaining women in computing.  Miranda Neville, Justine Clarke, Devon Mensching, and Ama Sefa-Dapaah assisted in the talk.  The four students also delivered their own talks in a separate student track for the conference.

Devon and Ama:  "How to Organize a Peer Mentor Program"

Miranda:  "Having Your Organizational Cake and Eat It Too – Making Efficiency Your Friend"

Justine:  " Resource to Improve (Our) Computational Thinking"
