Computer Science Major Places in Top 5% of HackIllinois Applicants (Spring 2016)
Truc (Bamboo) Le, a Junior Computer Science major, has placed in the top 5% of applicants to HackIllinois, an opensource Hackathon that encourages students to build software solutions that benefit the public. Along with other selected participants, Bamboo will be paired with a professional developer to work on a open source project. The next round of the competition takes places from February 19th through 21st, 2016 at the University of Illinois.
Bamboo's participation in HackIllinois builds on her previous success in similar competitions. Most recently, Bamboo worked with several teammates from Michigan State University to compete at a Hackathon called MHacks 6. The group won an award for the best use of the Capital One API.
