Students Attend Grace Hopper Conference with NSF Support (Fall, 2010)
Through three awards from the National Science Foundation, Kasey Aderhold, Kiara Williams and Ashley Conard attended the 2010 international Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing conference in Atlanta. Approximately 1000 students from all parts of the world attended the conference. The DePauw women attended talks and resume-writing and other practical workshops and interviewed with companies offering internships and jobs. Kiara interviewed with the Microsoft Corporation for the first time and later (after additional interviews) accepted a Microsoft position in New York City. Kiara has written an article about her experiences at the conference. The article is available on the conference web site and can be read here.
