Box Score Visualization Program

Henry Dambanemuya

“Box Score Visualization Prototype” is an interactive web-based application for visualizing basketball score statistics. The application takes box score statistics as its input and graphically displays the results through interactive visualizations in the form of dynamic tables, line graphs, column graphs, pie charts, and an interactive timeline that shows a minute-by-minute play record of the game. The program can be used both as an analytical and reporting tool by basketball coaches: As an analytical tool, coaches can use the application to identify and analyze patterns and trends during the season so as to gain insights into the overall performance of the team, identify areas that need improvement and develop effective game strategies. As a reporting tool, the application can be used for conveying individual game and season results in a clear and concise way. The prototype is only a proof-of-concept.
