City Year Opportunity
ATTENTION DEPAUW SENIORS: City Year is hiring 3,000 corps members ages 17 to 24 to work full-time at our 24 U.S. locations. City Year is an education focused, nonprofit organization that unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service to keep students in school and on track to graduation. Teams of highly trained corps members serve full-time in schools as tutors, mentors, and role models. By focusing on attendance, behavior, and course performance (which identify students who are at risk of dropping out), corps members are uniquely able to help students and schools succeed. City Year is the most diverse youth service corps in the country. Corps members come from a variety of backgrounds and pursue a variety of careers after their year of service. What corps members have in common is a commitment to service and a belief in the power and idealism of young people. Benefits of a year of service with City Year include: · Monthly living stipend · $5,550 Segal Education Award · Federal student loan forbearance · Health insurance · Full uniform provided by Timberland and ARAMARK · Eligibility for graduate school scholarships to over 60 accredited colleges and universities providing 25-100% of tuition (click here for more information on City Year’s give a year partnerships) The next application deadline for the 2013-2014 year is FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2013.
