Patrick Corley '13 and Maria Skiles '13
September 24, 2012
Here's some good English Department news:
Senior English Writing majors MARIA SKILES and PATRICK CORLEY have been named this year's winners of the Chad Kostel Endowed Scholarship Award.
Given by the Kostel family, this award goes to a junior or senior English major "who demonstrate[s] a commitment to writing (either fiction or non-fiction, creative or journalistic) as a profession." The family has given the award "in the memory of Chad Kostel, a DePauw alumnus who majored in English and later became a newspaper writer, editor and published author."
Just this summer, the "Chad Kostel Award," which used to be given in the spring, was transformed into the "Chad Kostel Endowed Scholarship Award." The winner(s), chosen by the English Department and the Financial Aid Office, will be named at the start of the school year.
Congratulations, Maria and Patrick!
