Assistant Professor of Modern Languages (French)

PhD in French literature (Johns Hopkins University, 2007), MA in French literature and civilization (Université de Paris 4 Sorbonne, 2000), BA in French and English languages, cultures and civilizations (University of Bucharest, 1998)

Teaching: French, translation, Humanities

Research: Marcel Proust, writers-translators (Baudelaire, Mallarmé, Proust), non-native French authors writing in French (19th-21st centuries)

Other interests: cinema, live concerts, travelling

Little known fact: after living and (mostly) walking in Paris for 2 years, wrote and published a cultural guide of Paris, in Romanian, with some success (3 editions sold out in 2 years).

Personal quote: if you work with people and you don't like what you do, nobody will like what you do.
