Barbara Whitehead

Barbara Whitehead, Professor of History and Chair of the History Department, came to DePauw in 1990 after studying at Harvard and Bryn Mawr, where she earned her Ph.D. in French historiography. Barbara teaches French history, The Enlightenment, and European Women's History as well as courses on the Vikings and the Crusades. Her research interests center on women intellectuals of the French Enlightenment.
