Dr. Jamillah Karim will be giving a talk entitled, "Black Muslim Feminism: Sunni Muslim Women and the Nation of Islam," at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, in Watson Forum. Dr. Karim taught at Spelman College before spending last year in Malaysia. Her award-winning first book, "American Muslim Women: Negotiating Race, Class, and Gender within the Ummah," was an ethnography about Muslim women in Chicago and Atlanta.
