Douglas Hallward-Driemeier, the attorney and 1989 DePauw University graduate whose arguments helped persuade the U.S. Supreme Court to rule in favor of same-sex marriage this summer, returned to campus recently.

Here to present a Timothy and Sharon Ubben Lecture, Hallward-Driemeier, a Political Science major and Honor Scholar, described how lessons learned on the DePauw campus informed the successful arguments he made before the high court.
