Tree Sensitivity to Climate Change in Putnam County, Indiana

Ben Harsha, Rudra Vishweshwar, Weiqing Zhang, Peter Konieczny, and Julia Roell are working with Professor Jim Mills on collecting and analyzing data from the nature park to determine how the climate has changed in Putnam County. The students hope to add their results of climate change in Putnam County to the broader question of climate change worldwide.

High Speed Classical Phenomena: Imaging, Analysis and Education

Professor Jacob Hale and his first year SRF team of Hannah Lukemeyer, Tao Qian, Sterling Brooks, Michael Tobin, and Nicholas Moore are developing an educational database about scientific phenomenon. Using a high-speed camera, the group designs their own experiments, taking everyday motions and turning them into a scientific discovery.

The Psychology of Csikszentmihalyi's Flow: Investigating Relations to Personality and Achievement

Professor Scott Ross with his team of Maya Arcilla, Doug Tipsword, Hengshuo Zhang, Ellie Hoover, and Adam May are researching Csikszentmihalyi's concept of Flow as it relates to personality and achievement. Flow is the psychology of optimal experience; the feeling of being “in the zone.”The team will look for personality traits that may correlate to higher levels of flow. The components of flow will also be analyzed to determine what components of flow are easier to achieve and the components that certain personality traits experience.
