Greetings! I will have the pleasure of meeting with you to discuss your questions and assist those of you with "benefit-eligible status" with signing up for benefits as an employee of DePauw University. In preparation for this meeting, I ask that you avail yourself of the opportunity to read and review the information on your benefits available on the Human Resources web page.
On the Benefits page, please review the Summary of Benefits for Full-time Salaried Staff which, of course, includes full-time faculty members. This will provide you with a solid overview. The only item not covered in this summary is the Moving Expense Allowance. The application form is available from the Human Resources office upon request. You will also have received a copy of this form at the time of your on-campus interview.
Please refer to the Group Health Insurance and Flexible Benefit Plan (08-09). Under this menu you will find the Health Insurance Premium Contribution Schedule for the three medical plans and the dental insurance plan. You will also find the Summary of Benefits for the Point of Service (POS) medical plan, the Open Access Plus medical plan, the Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) Choice Fund and the dental plan.
We will provide you with the medical and dental insurance enrollment form at the orientation. However, the enrollment forms for the "Group Health Insurance Plan," the "Health Care Flexible Spending Account Enrollment Change Form," and the “Dependent Day Care Flexible Spending Account Enrollment Change Form” can be accessed on the general Benefits menu page if you would like to review these and even print out and begin filling them out prior to a meeting.
Finally, please read about the Retirement Plan. This outlines the four retirement companies with which DePauw University has a relationship and will allow you to link with their websites. Again, enrollment material will be available at the orientation. DePauw makes a contribution (8%) to the retirement plan only if the employee makes a contribution (5%) as well. Please note that part-time faculty members are eligible to contribute to the retirement accounts, however, they are not eligible for this matching contribution from DePauw.
