• Figure out who they are and identify occupations that may be of interest; we encourage students to ask questions such as:
  1. What do I do well?
  2. What do I like to do?
  3. What's important to me?
• Obtain occupational and graduate school information;
• Further explore and perhaps sample the full range of occupational and graduate study opportunities available to them;
• Present themselves effectively as candidates for jobs or graduate/ professional school; and
• Obtain optimal placement in appropriate positions.

Importantly, some of what the students learn through CSC may be implemented several years after graduation as they make job and career changes. This corresponds with our belief that career planning is developmental and lifelong, not just short-term.
