Key to the Schedule Of Classes

Priority and Classification:
Registration priority numbers are assigned by students’ classification and the beginning letter of their last name.

Classification (cls) is based on the following number of courses expected to be earned by the end of the semester as indicated below.

Classification Courses Earned Classification Number
SR (senior) 22.50 and up 4
JR (junior) 14.50 to 22.25 3
SO (sophomore) 6.50 to 14.25 2
FR (freshman) 0.00 to 6.25 1
Specials -- 7, 8
Internationals -- 9, 0

For registration purposes only, students within one-half course of the next classification are classified with the higher ‘cls’.  Generally, this is an advantage.  However, if after checking the course priorities listed on the Schedule of Classes, you feel it is a disadvantage, request a change in the registrar’s office.
