Request for Deferment

Student Deferment

Any borrower is eligible for a deferment who is enrolled as at least a half-time student at an accredited institution of higher education in the United States, or at a comparable institution outside the United States.  A 'half-time' student is defined as a student who is carrying at least one half of the normal full-time academic workload as determined by the institution where enrolled.

To apply for a Federal Perkins or Federal Stafford student loan deferment, download the appropriate form below.  Complete the borrower section, sign, date, and have the Registrar Office at the school or institution you are attending certify your attendance in Section II.  Return the completed form to your lender or the company that services the particular loan account for the deferment you are downloading.
