Dates and Deadlines

Early Decision

Early Decision is an option for students who, early in their senior year, are sure that they wish to enroll at DePauw. The Early Decision agreement (through the Common App) states that DePauw is your first-choice university and, if accepted, you will attend DePauw and withdraw all applications pending elsewhere. We take this commitment seriously and expect that you will also.

Early Decision Dates
November 1

Completed application and Early Decision Candidate's Agreement due. Those applying for need-based financial aid must submit the CSS PROFILE to the financial aid office.
December 1 Notification of Early Decision acceptance begins.
January 15 The non-refundable enrollment deposit required to reserve your place in the class is due.
February 1 Those applying for need-based financial aid must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the federal processor as soon as possible following the collection of your income tax data. It is important that you apply on time so that we may make your financial aid award in advance of the February 15 enrollment deposit due date.

Early Action

Students who wish to receive an earlier notification of their admission to DePauw may use the Early Action option.  Under this program, students are notified of their admission decision by January 15 and have until May 1 to submit their $400 acceptance deposit confirming their intention to enroll in DePauw.
