Alumni Legacy Awards
Alumni Legacy Awards of $1,000 per year are offered to students whose parents or grandparents graduated from DePauw. These awards are made regardless of financial need; if you apply for need-based financial assistance and qualify, additional financial aid will be offered.
Lilly Scholars
DePauw strongly encourages applications from Lilly Community Foundation Scholarship recipients from all Indiana counties. The Community Foundation provides full tuition, instructional fees, funding for the DePauw-required laptop and a book stipend. Additionally, DePauw provides scholarship funding equal to the value of Room and Board charges less federal Pell Grant eligibility.
Any tuition-specific scholarships and grants that were previously awarded become honorary awards as the Lilly Scholarship pays for all tuition and fees.
Students remain eligible for the University Room and Board Scholarship each semester that they receive funding from the Lilly Community Foundation. Any opportunities on campus for additional stipends (e.g. Resident Assistant), departmental awards or outside scholarships will reduce or replace the amount of the Room and Board Scholarship.
Contact your local county Lilly Community Foundation or high school guidance counselor to apply. Additional information is available at www.lillyendowment.org/ed_csp.html.
National Merit Scholarships
DePauw recognizes that attainment of National Merit Finalist status represents the pinnacle of one’s high school academic achievements. National Merit Scholarships of $1,000 per year are offered to students who list DePauw as their first-choice school with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. This award is in addition to any academic scholarship for which the student qualifies but cannot exceed the cost of tuition.
In addition, all National Merit Finalist will automatically be invited to apply for the Edward Rector Scholarship - DePauw’s most prestigious academic merit award for incoming first-year students. The Rector Scholarship awards three-quarters to full-tuition scholarships to a select group of students meeting the terms of the Rector Scholarship program.
United Methodist Foundation Award
A United Methodist Foundation Award in the amount of $1,000 is available to one student in each class. Every application must be accompanied by a certification of church membership. A student can receive a Foundation Award only once.
United Methodist Scholarships
United Methodist Scholarships are awarded to as many as ten students attending DePauw. To qualify, the applicant must have a B grade point average (3.0 on a 4.0 scale), demonstrate financial need as determined by completing the FAFSA, and be a member of the United Methodist Church at least one year. Current students have the same selection criteria. June 1st is the application deadline. Renewal is based upon a student continuing to meet the eligibility requirements. Every application must be accompanied by a certification of church membership.
