DePauw strongly encourages Lilly Scholarship recipients from all Indiana counties to consider enrolling at DePauw. Indiana residents selected to receive Lilly Scholar recognition must name DePauw as their first-choice school in order to receive full tuition, room and board, and books provided to cover their four years of attendance at DePauw. If the student has not already been admitted, immediate consideration of the Application for Admission will be granted. In a typical first-year class, DePauw will enroll between 10 and 20 Lilly Scholars.
DePauw recognizes that attainment of National Merit Finalist status represents the pinnacle of one’s high school academic achievements. National Merit Scholarships of $1,000 per year are offered to students who list DePauw as their first-choice school with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. This award is in addition to any academic scholarship for which the student qualifies but cannot exceed the cost of tuition.
In addition, all National Merit Finalist will automatically be invited to apply for the Edward Rector Scholarship - DePauw’s most prestigious academic merit award for incoming first-year students. The Rector Scholarship awards three-quarters to full-tuition scholarships to a select group of students meeting the terms of the Rector Scholarship program.
A United Methodist Foundation Award in the amount of $1,000 is available to one student in each class. Every application must be accompanied by a certification of church membership. A student can receive a Foundation Award only once.
United Methodist Scholarships are awarded to as many as ten students attending DePauw. To qualify, the applicant must have a B grade point average (3.0 on a 4.0 scale), demonstrate financial need as determined by completing the FAFSA, and be a member of the United Methodist Church at least one year. Current students have the same selection criteria. June 1st is the application deadline. Renewal is based upon a student continuing to meet the eligibility requirements. Every application must be accompanied by a certification of church membership.
