CAMPUS VISIT

A campus visit can begin as early as 9 a.m. or as late as 2:30 p.m., accommodating both a tour and an admission appointment. In addition to the tour and admission appointment, other opportunities are available on a weekday visit to help families become acquainted with DePauw.

  • Attend a class
  • Meet with a coach or faculty member
  • Have lunch while on campus
  • High school Seniors are welcome to spend the night on campus with a student host.
  • Overnight accommodations can be made for one night most Sunday through Thursday evenings with a two-week advance notice. Many students like to arrive on campus in the late afternoon or early evening hours, meet their host/hostess for the evening and have their scheduled appointments and activities the following day.
  • If you would like to schedule a music audition during your visit to DePauw, please complete the Music Audition Reservation form.

THE CAMPUS TOUR

The campus tour is a walking tour led by a current DePauw student. The tour enters several, but not all of the buildings on campus. It takes approximately 75 minutes, so be sure to wear your walking shoes. During the school year tours are conducted weekdays at 9:00 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:15 p.m., and 3:30 p.m., and most Saturdays at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and noon. Our tours occur through rain, snow, sleet, and hail, so dress accordingly.

During the summer months of June, July, and August, tours are conducted weekdays at 9:00 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:15 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. The summer months in Indiana can be hot. Again, dress accordingly for a 75-minute walking tour. DePauw does not schedule Saturday hours during the summer. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  We are open one Saturday in the summer during Alumni Reunion Weekend, which is usually the first or second weekend in June.

ADMISSION APPOINTMENTS

The appointment with an admission counselor can be conducted in one of two formats:

  • Information Sessions include a brief presentation by an admission counselor with the opportunity for questions and answers. There may be other families present for the information session.
  • Individual Interviews are strongly recommended for students who plan to apply to DePauw. Interviews for high school Seniors typically take place in the fall semester. High school Juniors who feel prepared may interview in their spring semester. Information from the individual interview becomes part of the student’s application for admission.

Admission appointments are available every weekday and many Saturdays during the academic year. During the summer months of June, July and August appointments are scheduled Monday through Friday only, except during Alumni Reunion Weekend.

Admission Events

DePauw University offers several programs over the course of the year which allow you to meet with our recruiting staff off-campus, or visit the campus and experience the life of a DePauw student on campus.

Invitations and notices for the various programs will be sent out ahead of time to students with whom we've had contact, but we also invite other interested students to register.

Admission Events 

Overnight Visits

The dates high school Seniors may plan an overnight visit are listed below. Please call: 800.447.2495 or email Visit DePauw at least two weeks prior to your planned overnight visit. DePauw will host high school Seniors for one night, Sunday through Thursday. There is no cost for an overnight stay. However, we do require you to bring along your bedding (sleeping bag, pillow, blanket), towels and toiletries.

  • Sunday, September 11 through Wednesday, October 12
  • Wednesday, October 26 through Monday, November 21
  • Wednesday, November 30 through Tuesday, December 6
  • Monday, February 6 through Thursday, March 1 
    (The February start date is subject to change due to recruitment dates.)
  • Monday, March 5 through Wednesday, March 21
  • Wednesday, April 4 through Monday, April 30

Weekend Visits

During the academic year, the Office of Admission is open for individual visits some Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. We are able to offer a campus tour and admission appointment on a Saturday. Depending on schedules, an appointment with a coach is sometimes possible on a Saturday. Classroom visits, meetings with professors, and financial aid appointments are not possible during a Saturday visit.

Saturday visits are available this spring on February 11 and 25; March 10 and 17; April 21; and June 9. The Office of Admission is closed on Sundays throughout the year.
