e strongly encourage students to visit DePauw University during their college search process.
The appointment with an admission officer can be conducted in one of two formats. An information session is a brief presentation by an admission officer with the opportunity for questions and answers. There may be other families present for the information session. Information sessions are offered weekdays at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and most Saturdays at 11:00 a.m.
Another option is an individual interview. An interview is not required but it is strongly recommended for students who plan to apply to DePauw. We recommend students interview in the fall semester of their senior year of high school. However, if a high school junior feels prepared to have an interview, this can be scheduled late in the spring semester of the junior year. The admission interview is evaluative in nature and becomes a part of the student's application for admission.

Appointments in the Admission Office may be handled either by a full time member of the Admission Staff or a Fall Counselor. A Fall Counselor is a DePauw senior intern in the Admission Office who assists with information sessions and interviews while our Admission Staff is conducting its fall and spring travel. These students are fully trained in admission procedures and requirements and are excellent resources for families for admission information as well as student life questions.
Interviews are offered weekdays at 10:15, 11:15, 2:15 and 3:15 and most Saturdays at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00 noon. During the summer months of June, July and August appointments are scheduled Monday through Friday other than Monday, May 30 and Monday, July 4, 2007. No appointments are scheduled on Saturday during the summer other than during Alumni Reunion Weekend (Saturday, June 9, 2007). During Alumni Reunion Weekend the Office of Admission will be open from 9:00 a.m. to noon and one tour will be scheduled during this time period.
“In the School of Music, we are so immersed in music. As undergraduates, we get all the performance opportunities that would typically go to graduate students at a lot of other universities.”
