What is the term of service for an Alumni Board member?

A new board member's term of office officially begins after the spring meeting. Therefore, the first official meeting for a new member is the fall meeting. New members must complete New Member Orientation. They are invited to do this before their official term begins, by attending the spring meeting. However, a new member must have completed New Member Orientation by the end of their first official meeting in the fall.

What is the process for being nominated and selected?

The Alumni Office staff collects nominations from alumni throughout the year with a deadline of June 30th. The DePauw Development and Alumni Relations Research Office supplements these nominations with information on file with the University. In the fall, the Nominating Committee of the Alumni Board of Directors meets to review nominations then selects new members that following winter. The slate of new members is approved by the entire Alumni Board of Directors during the spring meeting.

How long is a nomination effective?
Nominees remain on the nomination list for three years. If after three years, the nominee has not been selected, he/she may be re-nominated for another three year period.

How may I nominate someone to be on the Alumni Board?

Please provide: Nominee's full name and class year, complete address, and all business/professional information. A brief explanation of the qualifications of this nominee for Alumni Board membership. Use your own words to list relevant accomplishments or other recognition. Include your name and day time phone number
