Alumni Service Trip
In 2013, DePauw will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Winter Term in Service (WTIS) and the 20th anniversary of partnering with the community of Consolacion and the surrounding region in El Salvador.
In 1993, the first group of DePauw students made a connection with the community of Consolacion, El Salvador, assisting in the building of a school while learning from the local community through the Winter Term in Service program. In 2012, DePauw maintains this partnership with this same community (now Las Delicias) through WTIS and Companion Community Development Alternatives (CoCoDA), an Indianapolis-based non-profit organization. To commemorate 20 years of partnership and a commitment to service, WTIS, CoCoDA, and DePauw Alumni Relations are hosting an alumni reunion service trip in the summer of 2013 to El Salvador.
By inviting alumni to participate in this service trip, DePauw and CoCoDA hope to offer a reunion experience for those that have participated over the 20 years, reach out to family of alumni to connect with this DePauw tradition of service, and offer an opportunity to those that were not able to participate during their years at DePauw.
The trip will begin on Sunday, July 21, 2013 with participants flying to San Salvador to spend 10 days in the Consolacion community. Participants will return to the US on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. If you're interested in participating in the trip, please complete this simple form to let us know. For more detailed information about the trip, please visit the CoCoDA website.
